From October 29 – 30, 2019, the “13th Aachen Water Technology Conference” will take place at RWTH Aachen University. In this context, Ms. Teresa Garstenauer MSc will present the implementation of a membrane bioreactor for the post-treatment of electroplating wastewater. <\/p>\n\n

In the electroplating industry, wastewater is generated during the surface treatment of metal products, which is primarily purified by precipitation reactions. The filtrate from the chamber filter presses still contains significant quantities of COD, heavy metals (e.g. zinc, iron, chromium) and filterable substances. In order to meet the quality requirements for direct discharge into the receiving water, it makes sense to post-treat the filtrate in a membrane bioreactor (MBR). <\/p>\n\n
